Alisa joined Martlet Capital in 2022 as an Investment Manager in Life Sciences. Alisa has been working in deep science and technology since studying genetics at the University of Glasgow and then completing her PhD in Stem Cell Neuroscience at the University of Cambridge, researching the intersection of biology and physics.

Prior to Martlet Capital, she has been working as an Investment Manager at Bloc Ventures, a deep tech investment firm in London, focusing on investments in cloud, connectivity, data science and security. Before that, Alisa worked at Marshall Aerospace and Defence and their newly established in-house accelerator called Marshall Futureworx as a Business Development Executive. As part of the senior management team, she worked on strategic innovation projects and took the lead in developing business cases for investment into emerging technologies across space, air, land and sea for both civilian and military applications.

Alisa first moved into the investment world from her position as a Head of Commercial Strategy at a London-based start-up when she joined Cambridge Enterprise Seed Funds as a Life Sciences Investment Associate. She focused primarily on Pre-seed and Seed stage investment opportunities from the research stemming from the University of Cambridge, whilst building a strong network in the Cambridge ecosystem. She also organised and judged start-up competitions, represented the University in raising a new social innovation fund and mentored underrepresented venture capital candidates to create a fairer and more diverse industry, through Diversity VC.

Outside of work, you will find Alisa on her allotment tending to her plants and bees.
