Martlet Capital is an early-stage investor based in Cambridge, providing patient capital to deep tech and life sciences B2B startups with high growth potential.

Martlet Capital (and its predecessor entity) has invested in more than 70 start-ups since its launch in 2011. Martlet has now deployed its balance sheet fund and continues to support its existing portfolio with co-investment from EMV Capital.

The team is comprised of experienced investors and entrepreneurs. In addition to capital, Martlet offers support, experience and a network of contacts.

They have achieved several exits from their portfolio, from trade sales to global technology companies and IPOs. Notable exits include Abcam, Arachnys, Audio Analytic, Cambridge CMOS Sensors, Flusso, Frontier Developments and Spectral Edge. 

Martlet’s operational VC business is owned and portfolio managed by EMV Capital, the VC investor specialising in high-growth deep tech and life sciences companies.
