We are delighted to announce FocalPoint have been recognised by the Royal Institute of Navigation with the 2020 Duke of Edinburgh’s Navigation Award for Outstanding Technical Achievement in recognition of their ‘pioneering innovations in motion modelling and navigation sensor signal processing, enabling next-generation mobile positioning, navigation and timing’.

Due to lockdown, the team had to celebrate the milestone on video conference, with plans for a proper celebration once they can pop the champagne in reality.

Dr Ramsey Faragher, CEO and Founder said: “We are absolutely delighted to be picking up one of the most prestigious awards in the Global navigation community. It is a worthy reflection of the brilliance and dedication of the entire team at FocalPoint.”

FocalPoint’s Supercorrelation technology dramatically increases in the sensitivity and accuracy of GNSS receivers, improving accuracy and integrity in urban canyons by a factor of 10, and sensitivity indoors by up to 10x.

The award, confirmed by the Royal Institute of Navigation’s Council, was officially announced to industry at their Annual General Meeting scheduled June 30th 2020. Previous winners span the European Space Agency to GLONASS for providing a full global positioning and timing service. It completes a neat company of winners since FocalPoint’s Supercorrelation technology can boost the accuracy of devices on the GLONASS system.
